Tigers overcome slow start to claim HVL title

History was made Saturday afternoon as Lake City completed a perfect 16-0 conference season with a 61-52 victory over Cannon Falls in the 26th Hiawatha Valley League Championship Game.  The game was anything but the victory lap many expected as Lake City won its 26th straight conference game and 22nd straight true road game.  
The Tigers won their seventh overall conference championship since 1993-94, joining the 2004-05 Lake City squad as the only two teams that have completed an unblemished record in conference play in the current format.
