Tigers tennis doubles tandem wins Section 1A
Ava Wallerich and Emma Brunkow were the No. 1 seed going into the Section 1A individual tournament Oct. 14 and they came away winners. After winning their opening round match on Monday they advanced to the semifinals on Tuesday against Sydney Elliott and Karin Hayford of Rochester Lourdes. They lost the first set in a tight battle 5-7 and then stormed back for wins in the second and third set, 6-0, 6-1. The victory advanced them to the championship match later that day against Ryan Witter and Elyse Palen of Rochester Lourdes, winning 6-3, 6-1.
