Top-seeded Tiger boys throttle Albert Lea to open playoffs

Freshman Gavyn Lorenson scored a career-high 14 points in his first playoff game as Lake City throttled Albert Lea 72-37 last Thursday night at Lincoln High School in the opening round of the Section 1AA playoffs.

All five Lake City starters scored as part of an 18-2 run over the opening five and a half minutes. The middle stages of the first half saw neither team score for nearly four minutes before Albert Lea trimmed the Lake City lead to 20-9 with 7:28 to play until halftime.
