Winter sports set to begin

Much-anticipated guidance from the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) arrived Dec. 28: winter high school sports teams can begin practicing Jan. 4 and competing Jan. 14.

For Lake City High School, that means dance, girls and boys basketball, and wrestling will begin soon.

The guidance calls for mask usage by most athletes. Wrestlers are an exception, according to a MSHSL news release.
