Wrestlers fall in close match to Saint Charles

The Lake City wrestling team lost a close dual 31-29 to St. Charles last Thursday on the home mat.  The Tigers led early but the Saints were able to overtake Lake City on the strength of bonus points.
“Most of the match went the way I thought,” said Coach Doug Vaith.  “But the bonus points they scored were the difference.”
The match count was 7-7 including a forfeit at heavyweight by the Saints, but the visitors were able to offset that with a tech fall, two pins and a major compared to Lake City’s two majors and one pin.
