Kline won't run again
The Lake City area will have a new representative in the U.S. Congress after the 2016 election.
Rep. John Kline announced last week he will not seek re-election after being elected to seven two-year terms.
“After much careful thought and deliberation I have decided not to seek re-election next year,” he said in a statement.
Kline’s Second Congressional District included one-fourth of Lake City, Precinct 4, until redistricting in 2010. Since that time all of Lake City and Wabasha County are in his district.
