Tornado hits Lake City

No one was injured or displaced by a Tuesday night tornado that caused extensive damage in Lake City, officials said, but some residents remained without power Wednesday morning and clean-up is expected to take days.

The storm hit at around 8 p.m. According to the National Weather Service, the tornado was rated EF-0 with an estimated peak wing of 80 miles per hour and a maximum width of 35 yards. It covered approximately 1.1 miles in the three minutes it was on the ground.
