Updated: Wabasha County considers closing jail

Wabasha County Commissioners will discuss and possibly vote on the permanent closure of the Wabasha County jail at their Tuesday, April 21, meeting.
County Administrator Brian Buhmann said the discussion is being driven by cost considerations. Closing the jail could save the county $1.3 million in 2021 alone.
