Letter: Highway 61 proposals don't address the real problem

To the editor:

I’ve been a frequent commenter on the proposed lane change plan for Highway 61/Lakeshore Drive. I’ve heard from both sides of the debate as to which format – four lanes or two lanes with a center turn lane – is the best path to take. I’ve sat through numerous hours of City Council discussions on the topic. I’ve heard of proposed costs ranging from $5 million to an excess of $12 million. On Monday night, the Council voted to proceed with the realignment plan.
