Friends and Neighbors: Hello. My name is...

Just prior to retirement and moving to the best town in the world, I worked in senior living communities. One of the highly promoted benefits of these communities is connectedness, so meeting people and remembering their names is rather important. It can also be difficult because you have a lot of new people to meet at once and many of us (myself included) forget names and even faces occasionally. So a lot of these communities have name badges for residents and staff, which works well, but it’s kind of impersonal and doesn’t translate well to small cities like ours.
