Gingham aprons from Lake City
Sparked by early family tradition in Lake City:
Waking to the smell of bacon,
strong black coffee, and something sweet;
Coming down the stairs to Grandma Elizabeth’s warm kitchen;
Donned in her gingham apron,
She waited for her grandkids’ elation,
Frosted gingerbread cookies await.
Two lovely daughters fueled Elizabeth’s tradition;
Each being excellent cooks in their gingham aprons.
Jean carried on the gingerbread cookies, and new favorites:
