Letter: Community's food shelf support means better lives for clients
To the editor:
As 2016 comes to a close, the 40 volunteers from the Lake City Food Shelf want to thank this community; churches, businesses, organizations and individuals for your ongoing generosity in food and monetary contributions to help us sustain a healthier lifestyle for our clients.
These statistics from 2016 show a continued need in our community:
• Children (ages 0-17) served: 1,573
• Adults served: 2,510
• Seniors served: 426
• Households served: 1,511
• Pounds of food given out: 100,290
