Letter: Four-lane is dangerous barrier between Lake City and the lake
To the editor:
Change, even that which offers great benefits, almost always comes with controversy. The proposed three-lane upgrade for Hwy. 61 is a case in point. The proposal will make our city more attractive, more pedestrian friendly, more bicycle friendly and more child friendly while, at the same time, upgrading important infrastructure.
Further, by reducing speeds, it will improve safety, which is why MNDOT recommended the change in the first place.
