Letter: Jail deja vu
To the editor:
It made me smile from ear to ear when I read the article in the Winona Post (2/25/2019) written by Chris Rogers, discussing the building of a new jail in Winona.
The Wabasha County Sheriff was asked to comment on Winona’s jail and the clip that follows is priceless: “Today, the Wabasha County Jail can hold 70 inmates, but it is only home to 10. With those numbers, Wabasha County Sheriff Rodney Bartsch stated, ‘We could save a lot of money by not having a jail; it’d be a lot cheaper to transport.’”
