Letter: Lions White Cane event raises money for blindness
To the editor:
On Saturday, May 5, during the 100-mile garage sale, Lake City Lions conducted an annual event known as “White Cane Day”. This event was held to create public awareness of blindness and eye diseases, and to collect donations to assist those who are afflicted with this medical problem. To this day, a founding principle of Lionism remains to “assist, prevent, and help find a cure for blindness.”
