To the editor:

My heart is heavy.

Like you I have always been proud to be an American, but the last two years have exposed an ugliness in this country that leaves us all exhausted and worried.

Recently I attended a tense, last minute town hall meeting that our congressman, U.S. Rep. Jason Lewis, held in Wabasha. It was unlike any other government meeting I have ever attended.
