Letter: Save the provider tax
To the editor:
The provider tax is a 2 percent tax on healthcare providers to help on the healthcare access fund. This money generates over $680 million per year to help fund the MinnesotaCare, Medicaid, and public health programs for chronic diseases, the opioid crisis, and healthcare provider shortages in the under served areas of our state. Without these public programs supported by the provider tax, more people will end up at the emergency room of hospitals which will cost all of us more.
