Letter: Sisters peel off tradition

To the editor:
I wanted to thank Lake City for bringing the apple peeling contest back to Johnny Appleseed Day, along with the other fun vendors.
I remember my mom doing this contest years ago and winning several times. I thought I’d give it a try, and didn’t expect to end up being the winner this year, and my younger sister had a close second.
Thank you to Pepin Heights for the wonderful gift. It was fun to participate and the weather was superb.
