To the editor:

Today we received a call from a Lake City resident who told us she had just received a call from our phone number.

We had not used our phone all morning, we said. 

She told us the number that had shown up on her caller ID, and it was clearly ours. How could that be?

Disturbed that someone using our phone number could be calling others and bothering them, or worse, scamming them, we called our phone company to discuss the problem.
