One can easily spend at least half a day researching the beginnings of April Fool’s Day. Just type it in and, if you have nothing better to do, spend a few hours chasing down the various ways it is recognized and celebrated in countries around the world.
The Old Curmudgeon recalls a conversation eons ago with a woman of Swedish origin who “enhanced” her farmer husband’s April 1 breakfast pancake with a strainer pad! You don’t get it? Explanation follows:
