Stars
The window above my bed faces north and I watch the Big Dipper as it moves across the sky. It seems to rise from the lake and disappear when the north star appears in the early morning.
I remember as kids we would lay on our backs and count the stars.
As I get older and sleep less and less I spend more time watching the night sky, not only the stars but also passing planes that fly over, and the helicopter that transports from the hospital (each time I see that I remember when I took that ride and I think: “someone’s life just changed.”)
