I have worked and lived in Goodhue County for more than 20 years, beginning my professional career as U of MN Extension Educator with the 4-H Youth Development programs in both Wabasha and Goodhue Counties. Later transitioning to Mayo Clinic, where currently I am a manager in Health Information Management.

I have had the privilege to serve the community of Zumbrota for the past 12 years as a council member. I have worked hard along with my fellow council members to provide vital services (police, fire, public works, etc.) and amenities, supporting economic development, while continuing to have one of the lowest city property tax rates in the area.

In 2019, I had the opportunity to travel with a cohort of county board members to Washington D.C. That trip ultimately yielded federal and state tax dollars, funding local projects in Zumbrota. This is where I think District 4 would benefit, from an advocate, for similar projects seeking alternative forms of funding, benefiting the areas of Lake City, Bellechester, Goodhue, Zumbrota and the townships that span those communities. At least in Zumbrota, we have had to reach out to other commissioners to help move projects or ideas forward. I am running so all of Districts Four’s communities have a voice and are represented.
