Voters will remember jail decision
To the editor:
Unfortunately for Wabasha County Sheriff Rodney Bartsh, the taxpayers’ memories remain sharp.
We remember the numerous meetings where we implored you and Commissioners Don Springer, Dave Windhorst, Tom Dwelle, and Pete Riester to continue using Goodhue County to house our inmates.
We remember how our research and data demonstrated a 72 bed jail was oversized (we have never been licensed to operate the full jail because we have never needed the 72 beds) and the costs to operate it would be too much for our small county.
