To the editor:

In the “good old days” There were no TV’s, cell phones, email or Twitter. People actually conversed.

Radio was in it’s infancy and telephone usually involved a party line.

Families sat down at he table for meals and had meaningful discussions.

At our house there was usually a guest; Mom always made sure there was enough food. Sometimes it was a neighbor kid or someone that dropped in.

On holidays someone less fortunate was invited to share. I don’t ever remember a holiday when it was just family.
