Letter: Outhouse, privy, biffy - by any name it still smells the same

To the editor:

Having always lived in town it was quite an experience for me to use an outhouse.

Each one was different but they all had a bench with a hole. Sometimes there were two holes, one for adults and one for children.

Most of them were just plain wood but some had a small window and even a curtain.

Ventilation was provided by cutting a star or moon in the upper door.
