Ruling favors Wabasha County in salary appeal

Wabasha County has prevailed in a salary dispute with Wabasha County Auditor/Treasurer Denise Anderson.

Anderson and County Attorney Karrie Kelly appealed the salaries set for them by the Wabasha County Board of Commissioners last November.

In July a court found that the Kelly’s salary was “arbitrary, capricious and unreasonable.” She and the board later settled on a new salary.

Anderson did not fare so well, with the court upholding her salary and finding that she had failed to show that it was arbitrary, capricious and unreasonable.
