On June 20, 2024, I attended a public hearing in St. Paul regarding the 20-year licensing extension request by Xcel Energy for the reactors at Prairie Island and Monticello. At this hearing, I received a 2024 Xcel Energy information sheet titled, Advancing the Clean Energy Transition. This information sheet estimated an “annual increase in customer’s electric rates of less than 1%.”
