Waves of Hope a courageous and sensitive approach to suicide prevention awareness

Monday evening, Jan. 27, I attended a meaningful, well planned program at Lincoln High School. It was called ‘Waves of Hope’ and focused on suicide prevention awareness.

The event was sponsored by community and county programs. Included were the Lake City Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Rotary Club, American Legion Post 110 and its Auxiliary, Public Schools, and Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center.

Other resource personnel were present to share about programs and mental health support options for children and adults of diverse ages.
